Ganghee Jang
After getting a bachelor’s degree in 2003 from Korea
University, Ganghee obtained a full-time position from KT (Korean Telecom).
While experiencing that many performance issues drove systems to malfunction,
especially due to processor boards, he became interested in system architecture.
However, KT’s promising job interrupted this new curiosity. He was granted
a two years leave of absence to pursue a Masters’ degree at the University of
Florida. There, he spent two years studying digital communication and
signals and systems, and finally decided not to return to KT, but instead to
find a chance to study computer systems. His new challenge starts here at
UCI where he is currently pursuing a PhD degree in the computer architecture
field, and where he is finding himself motivated to explore the parallel
architecture design space.
